To mark the beginning of the 2009–2010 academic year, the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences will host its annual convocation ceremony. At convocation, the undergraduate student body, NSU leadership, and faculty members will join together in anticipation of a year filled with academic excellence and shared intellectual pursuit. Convocation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 4:00 p.m. in the Miniaci Performing Arts Center. A reception will be held in the Carl DeSantis Building immediately after.

As part of our mission to prepare students for rich professional careers and active citizenship, the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences at Nova Southeastern University frames co-curricular programs and experiences around a broad annual theme that unites our community in interdisciplinary exploration. The academic theme for the 2009-2010 school year is "Good and Evil.”

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences invites new undergraduate students to join the First-Year Reading Program. Participants will receive free copies of Louise Murphy’s book The True Story of Hansel and Gretel, have the opportunity to discuss the book in small reading groups led by faculty members, and hear from the author herself at convocation.
