The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences brings prominent leaders from various fields to campus through the Distinguished Speakers Series. Special supporting events often occur in conjunction with these visits.

National Athletic Training Month 2008

Every March, the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) celebrates National Athletic Training Month. Its purpose is to honor certified athletic trainers (ATCs) and promote quality healthcare and wellness.

NSU's Athletics Department is recognizing the athletic trainers at each sporting event this month. ATEP is also presenting three of its own events on campus:

Quad Thursday
March 27, 12:00-1:00 p.m.
University Center Flight Deck Patio

Members of the Athletic Training Student Organization (ATSO) will teach other students how to perform preventative ankle and wrist taping, as well as providing common nutritional and hydration information for the “weekend warrior”. 

Athletic Training Olympics,
Thursday, March 27, 2:30-4:00 p.m.
Outside the north entrance to the University Center

The 3rd Annual Athletic Training Olympics will feature members of ATSO in demonstrations of common procedures performed by athletic trainers. Their performances will be judged by staff from the NSU athletic training department on performance, neatness, and time.  Events include the brace race, cooler relay, and blind-folded ankle taping.

Boomers & Beyond: A Day for Health and Wellness

Boomers and Beyond: A Day for Health and Wellness will provide adults 40 and older with information and resources they need to live and age well. Faculty members and students at the Athletic Training Education Program booth will explain:
