Graduate Admissions
How to Apply
Applicants should complete and submit an admissions application and a $50 non-refundable application fee. Official transcripts are required from each previously attended institution. Unofficial documents may be submitted for provisional admission purposes only. All final, official documents must be submitted within 90 days of start date.
Graduate Admission Requirements
Students with bachelor's degrees in any academic area are considered for admission to the master of arts in writing. Candidates for admission will be individually reviewed by a faculty committee.
NSU considers applicants in terms of their potential for success. Preferred admission qualifications include:
- An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0
- GRE combined verbal and analytical scores of 1000
- Three letters of recommendation
- A portfolio of writing (20-25 pages), including materials such as academic papers, professional work-related writing, and/or other works of creative writing or non-fiction prose
- A personal statement of approximately 500 words detailing the objectives of the student in applying for the M.A. in writing program
Nova Southeastern University welcomes applications from all qualified individuals and attempts to make the admissions process as simple as possible. Admission is on a "rolling" basis. As soon as all required documents have been received, an admissions decision will be made and applicants will be notified of their admissions status.
